After World War II there was a shift from isolationism to internationalism. The United States and most of the world looked to the principle of collective security to keep international peace. The United States took the lead in creating the United Nations in 1945. The principle of deterrence has been a basic part of American foreign policy since World War II. Toward the end of World War II, the United States had hoped to work with its wartime ally the Soviet Union, through the UN, to build international cooperation and to keep the peace in the postwar world. What was the cold war
It changed the power structure as prior to World War 2 most countries didn't have any or much high tech weapons like they did during WW2. When WW2 come, it forced countries to develop their military weapons and to try make a power stand of dominance. The main powers in WW2 was US, Nazi Germany and USSR but when the Nazis were defeated, it just left the US and USSR. By end of war, both countries were built up with military weapons and soon they become anxious of one side attacking so that caused the nuclear weapon race. After the USSR ended, the worlds power began to become less visible but there are same 2 countries still at top of world powers but only difference to after WW2 is the name of one of the countries.
Both world wars established that the United States was a world power. This became evident after World War One, and after World War Two, the US was clearly the most powerful nation in the free world.
Allowed them to occupy Europe afterward and gain huge influence by being protector against feared Russian invasion.
The United States emerged as one of the world's most powerful nations.
The two wars were the first and the second world wars.
WW I was bigger than previous wars, because all the powerful nations of the world were involved on one side or the other, in two vast, opposed alliances (the Triple Entente vs. the Central Powers). No previous war had involved the whole world.
world war I and world war II
World War 1 and World War 2 were the last declared wars that the US participated in.I'm sure however that there have been small regional warsafter World War 2, that the US did not participate in that were declared wars by the regional participants in those wars.
