The people on the Titanic were very shocked. Most did not really realize what was going on. They were also, as you probably know, very scared. They saw people around them screaming, crying, and even dying. They did not know if they were going to die or if their loved one was going to die.

The inquiry held by the U.S. was heavily criticized by Britain. The company that built the ship was British and therefore, the people of England felt like it should be a British organization that conducted the inquiry.
