How did you find out about WikiAnswers?

When it all began for you...Samurai Girl: I was researching for some answers until the site gave me a very amusing answer to my question. The next thing I did was signing up!

Eliesheva: I was told about it at work... a long, long time ago... way back when it was still FAQ Farm.

Pickleshy: Me, too. There were images of pigs and cows and farmers on the site, because we were "growing" the site and "seeding" questions. It was a cute metaphor, but I definitely like the ubiquitous orange guy better!

AliasAlice: I was putting off real work by messing around on the internet, found it by chance, then got addicted.

Doditov: I was researching an obscure point of religion for a group reply, and it came up first in the Google search. I don't think I've ever returned to that line of research...but WikiAnswers got another fish!

Mooey01: I was in the school library and vampchick ( Krystal ) referred me to it.

Eviltechie: I was on answers.com. Found WA as a distraction from work as I had a strict internet filter set up.

Ken Saunders: I followed a link from the results of a search on Google and got hooked immediately. I'm still trying to figure out why WikiAnswers is so addictive but so far I have ruled out subliminal messages and Martians using us to communicate and coordinate their plans for shared world domination with our house pets.

HonestCzech: I wanted to know the name of the bridge in the Sprint commercial. As I was looking for it, I ran across WikiAnswers. They were asking the question too, so I sent an e-mail to Dan, the CEO, and found out and then posted it, Gapstow Bridge. Nice forum you have here. Answers to almost everything.

TheFiddler: I stumbled across Wiki-Answers a couple of times, but I never really paid attention to it. Then when I was doing my homework on the computer, I got bored and fooled around and joined!

Mumford68: I had an electrical problem with my car and after doing a lot of searching over a good amount of time I found this site on a search engine. The answers provided allowed me to basically tell the mechanic what the problem was rather than them telling me to leave it there for a couple of days and paying them to diagnose the problem.

Katz2: My husband wanted to know what exactly is washing soda, as I searched for the answers I ended up on WikiAnswers. I was just looking around and found some questions asking for English to Spanish translations, I started answering them and them found Geography. I became so involved in cleaning up the category I forgot what I came here for. Never did find out what washing soda was for a long time. Got hooked on the site, big time!

JRWADDY: My sister is a crossword & quiz addict: I was looking for answers to various Qs for her..... & then I saw Qs about WW2 et al. The rest is history!

Henscha: 1,5 year ago I started to look for a question I've had for a few years and never gotten any proper answer. So after 2 hours reading about the human body I gave up and googled a few times and wound up here, I didn't get an answer though, instead I saw all these questions coming up that I knew, so I answered a few while waiting. Forgot about it and this page for 1,5 years until yesterday, at first convinced it was yahoo answers, 1,5 hour spent on typing my username/pw there , then remembering it was wiki. So came to see if it's still up, and indeed, a bit annoying with people who can't find anything better to do then make nonsense questions, but, kinda addictive, this site ^.-

R2y2a2n: I first found out about WikiAnswers when I was quite bored and I wanted something to do. I searched 'stuff to do when your bored' in Google and I found a list of sites and Wikianswers was on a list on a search result!

VictoryAh95: I was basically just doing research a few years ago for a homework assignment... and I was led from Google onto an answer to my question that was horrendously wrong. I had to change it, which led to me joining the site. I then forgot about my account for months, until I stumbled on it again. Now I can't get myself off (I'm supposed to be studying now :S)

L.M.: I almost forgot that...Well perhaps it's the time when I was finding "why carbon dioxide is released when trees are burnt?" during my revision of geography and someone just answered the same question in wikianswer.I found that this place's really useful and ya help me a lot in study; )

Kai3345 : I found out about it by just searching questions on Google. I use WikiAnswers for projects, homework, etc! It's a fun way to discover new things, and ask different questions! I think it's a great education tool.

Crescentmoon1999- I was randomly Surfing the web when I saw "Answers.com" and so I thought, "why not?" and just joined. Before I know it, I can't stop getting on!

Silkiechickens: I kept asking questions in my search engine, and so many sites brought me to WikiAnswers. It was really good to be able to find straight answers. Eventually I just decided to join.

• I typed in "Wikipedia" and a few searches down was WikiAnswers. I typed in a question online and it said my question was on WikiAnswers.
• I was asking a question and WikiAnswers answered my question. And I found out it was some kind of question-and-answer site. So I checked it out and signed up for the site.

• A lot of friends and I were aware of WikiAnswers as the #2 Q&A site on the Internet. However, I only recently decided to become a member.
• I'd done a bit of stuff for Wikipedia, and one day I booted up and the banner was there at the bottom of my screen.
