It is quite easy to change the thermostat in your 1990 Cutlass. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. Remove the thermostat from the housing. Reverse the process to install the new thermostat.
The thermostat is located where the hose leaves the engine to go to the top of the radiator. You unscrew the bolts holding the hose mounting to the engine. There you find the thermostat.
The 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra thermostat is located on the front of the engine. You can follow the water supply line from the radiator to the thermostat housing.
The thermostat of a Vauxhall Zafira is located in front of the engine. The unit is on engine itself and has a main radiator hose connected to it. To replace it remove the hose and unbolt the house from the engine. Replace the thermostat in the housing.
Engine end of upper radiator hose
For a 3.2L engine. It's located at the engine side of the bottom radiator hose. It is very difficult to replace, but not impossible. JF
Should be in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
To replace the thermostat on a 2002 Nissan Altima first drain out the coolant. Then proceed the to locate the thermostat housing which is by the engine compartment fuse box. Unbolt the housing and replace the thermostat.
If it is a 2.7L engine, then the thermostat is on the bottom side of the engine where the radiator hose flange is. It is a pain to do.

follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine this is where youwill find the thermostat housing. remove ther housing and you'll be looking at the thermostat. it is realy easy
Some engines are easier than others. Follow the upper rad hose from the rad to the engine and there you will find the housing for the thermostat. take the 2 bolts holding it out after taking the hose off and when replacing it make sure the spring goes toward the engine.
Follow the top radiator hose down to the water outlet on engine. The stat is in there.
