This may be because the crate that you are keeping your lab in is too small. If a dog just fits in the crate and they do not have very much room to move around they will be less likely to go to the bathroom in the crate. This is because they think of the crate as their bed, and do not want to go to the bathroom in their bed. However if they have a place to go to the bathroom, and a place to lay where they would not have to lay in their defecation, they re more likely to go to the bathroom in their crate
Let it live outside. Did you think of that?
Yes, so long as the older Lab is okay with it. The older Lab may dislike being trampled on. They should both have enough space to comfortably lay down.
What is the weight of your dog? I always get a bigger crate than what is needed. So they can turn, stand and lay down with a room to spare. I have a Large one for my heeler.
No one knows but Ganz.
The beloved Black Lab hasn't been the POTM and never will be (since it's retired and all). :(

If you plan on keeping them crate trained, it's better than they have their own. Get the largest crate that is available so that it will grow with them. An extra large crate will run around $100. You should purchase dog crates for each dog. It is far too risky to have them in one crate together. Also, purchase a crate that allows them to stand up and re-adjust themselves while sleeping, but not so large that they can move around in it.
they are dirty
Crate train him, he needs to stay in the crate except to come out every 2 hours to pee outside and tell him go potty and after he goes praise him and give him a treat saying "good (his name) go potty!" and be excited for him. Whatever you do, do not rub his nose in the mess, that is considered dog abuse, and don't let him watch you clean up his mess or he feels he has power over you
Keep them separated.
