They are normally attached by screws that go through the back boards of the cabinet and into the wall.

1) Use a stud finder (or tap tap tap and find the beams the hard way) and find where the wood is behind the wall. You need your screws to go into the wood or the cabinet will fall and kill you.

2) Measure everything twice and make sure it's going to fit.

3) Find where the screws will go through the cabinet. Put them through the thick part of the back, not the thin, weak part.

4) Drill a hole through the back for your screw to go through.

5) Get the cabinet in place.

6) fasten the screw through the hole into the wall. Make sure it bites the wood, otherwise do it over again.

7) Use 4+ screws until you're sure it will stay up under heavy load.

8) Attach moulding to the front top if you like.

9) Start at the middle/corner and work your way out.

make sure the outter edges of the upper and lower cabinets line up so that neither is not sticking out more than the other.

you need at least a 3 ft level, wood shims, Drill,a good eye ball, common sense

actually this job needs quite a bit of indepth explanation of about 5 pages / far more than can be explained here

For rehanging a kitchen cabinets you should pay attention to the following:

Vertical position of the door:

To adjust these, loosen the A and B screws on both the top and bottom hinges of a door, and move the door up or down before tightening the screws again. Other models have solid, round holes for the A and B screws and a separate "cam screw" that can be adjusted to move the inner part up or down a few millimeters.

Distance of the door from the cupboard:

On some models, this screw may actually fix the outer part of the hinge to the inner part. In this case, loosening the screw will enable you to slide the outer part in or out before tightening it again.

Horizontal position and alignment of the door:

If a door is wonky, or too close or too far from its neighbor, screw E can be adjusted. Tightening it will pull the door closer to the hinge and away from the neighboring cupboard. For a door that is not parallel, you'll need to tighten only one of these screws, on the top or bottom hinge, to straighten it up.

A wobbly door:

This is a sign that the screws holding one of the hinge parts is loose - usually the A and B screws that fix the inner part of the hinge to the cupboard, or the D screw that holds the outer part of the hinge in place. Tightening these should fix the problem.

Kitchen Cabinet Doors Can Become A China Cabinet?

Kitchen cabinet doors can turn simple cabinets into a china cabinet when home owners update to glass. Glass cabinet doors allow the display of fine china, goblets and serving pieces. Many use glass-front kitchen cabinets to display collections such as colorful vases, glass pitchers, and antique decorative dishware of all kinds. Still others enjoy using glass-front cabinets to display less formal collections such as sports-related mugs or dishware, beer steins, shot glasses or decorative bar ware, and more. Kitchens can look larger with the addition of glass-front cabinet doors and may solve the need for a china or curio cabinet.
