How do I replace the belt on a 88 Olds Delta 88?
Your car should have the serpentine bent (One belt drives
everything). If so you need to find the belt tensioner, it is a
quarter inch drive (use your 1/4 ratchet) stick the the square part
of the driver into the square hole on the tensioner, then simply
lift up on the tentioner, this in turn will loosen the belt, and
you can then take off the old belt. Putting on the new belt is
basically reverse of that, the easiest I found was having it looped
around everything the right way, except the alternator, lift on the
tensioner to get the belt to come around the alternator, after it
is aligned lower the tensioner so the belt is tight.
