RNA differs from DNA in three ways. First, RNA consist of a single strand of nucleotids instead of the two strands found in DNA. Second, RNA nucleotides contain the five carbon sugar ribose rather than the sugar deoxyribose, Ribose contains one more hydrogen atom than deoxyribose contains. Third, in addition to the A, G, and C nitrogen base found in DNA, RNA nucleotides can have a nitrogen base called Uracil which codes for U. No thymine bases are found in RNA

RNA is single stranded and DNA is double stranded forming a double helix. Also ,the structure of the RNA nucleotide has a ribose , phosphate and a base while DNA has deoxyribose a phosphate and a base . In RNA uracil replaces thymine .

DNA is double stranded (2 strands) whereas RNA is single stranded.

(In some forms of RNA, the single strand will self-hybridise - bind to itself, creating sections which could be called double stranded)
