How do animals and plants depend upon one another?
animals depend on plants to eat and plants depend on animals for carbon dioxide that comes from their breath.
Plants depend upon animals from the carbon dioxide they produce by exhaling or other means. They need Carbon Dioxide to survive just as we need Oxygen to survive. Therefore, plants inhale carbon dioxide and exhale and/or produce oxygen just as we do the opposite (taking in oxygen and producing and/or exhaling carbon dioxide).
Plants (or at least most plants; there are some exceptions) do not eat any other organism; they create their own food out of water, air, minerals and sunlight. Whereas, all animals have to eat some other organism to survive. Some eat plants and some eat other animals, but every animal eats some kind of organism.
