it is not a proven fact that they sleep, but they have no eyelids so it's unlightly though we do know that they take turns to rest during day and night
Ants actually never sleep. They work all the time when they are in the wild. If they are in an Ant Farm then sometimes they may rest a little bit.
heyy buddy whats up stinkpickkle =]Ants don't sleep, imbecile.Ants do sleep.http://news.bbc.co.uk/earth/hi/earth_news/newsid_8100000/8100876.stmThey experience rapid antennae movement, similar to REM.
Yes they do, matter of fact.I think it depends on the species. I have White-footed Ants (Technomyrmex albipes) that come to live in my kitchen every winter and they, unlike the Argentine Ant, certainly appear to enter a dormant state very like sleep. In the morning one finds little groups of them on the countertop or, more often, under the breadboard or a plate, or in the waterjug (they have a great affinity for water) -- all still and apparently sleeping. One has to nudge them or tap sharply near them before they all come to life and run around in a bit of a panic. So yes, I would say that some ants sleep.
ANTS. ants are tiny and do not sleep... HARD LITTLE WORKERS!

Ants who live in colder climates hibernate, when it gets too cold for them. If it's warm enough and food enough they'll stay awake year round.
I believe that ants don't sleep, that's just one that I can think of.
