How do bettas mate?
the male wraps around the female and then the eggs come out and
they get put in the bubblenest
Bettas mate after much chasing and dominance showed by the male. I let my pair stay together for two days and one night and the next day I noticed him getting as close to her side as possible and then proceeds to "wrap" around her middle. The next thing you will see are little white eggs falling from her egg vent behind her belly fin which is white also. The female will be "stunned" for a minute and almost seem dead, while the male picks them up and places them in the "bubble nest" (if he even has one), mine never does... hopefully the female doesn't wake up and eat the fry right away or you won't have may fry.My female helps pick them up, but I remove her when she is showing signs of fatigue from mating for hours. Leave daddy in with them until free feeding, he has done his job, and saved them from drowning.
