On the four banger I own I have to use two universal joints on the ratchet for the first plug from the front of the truck to avoid having to take out any other parts. I heavily recommend also using the tool to remove the plug wire boots from the plugs and even then you should replace the wires. go one plug at a time as you replace them so you do not forget the wiring order on the distibutor. If you are replacing the distributor cap then hold it over the existing one as you go down the line to make sure each wire is properly connected. I hope this was helpful
