Cytotoxic T-cells kill infected cells in one of two ways:
1. By interaction with Fas ligand on T-cell with Fas molecule on target cell (induces apoptosis).
2. Release of lytic granules containing granzymes (also induces apoptosis)
- For this, the T-cell needs to form pores in the target cell using perforin and granulysin.
Cytotoxic T cells can induce target cells to undergo programmed cell .... and the other not, they kill only the target cell bearing the specific antigen. ... These cytotoxic T cells can kill any cell harboring such pathogens by recognizing foreign
they travel to the site of infection and release enzymes into pathogens causing then to lyse and die.
Some of the cytokines made by the T cells attract other cell types, which are capable of digesting the virus-infected cell. The T cells can also destroy some types of cancerous cells.
phagocytes of the white blood cells
T cells recognize these proteins and produce certain substances (cytokines) that destroy the infected cells.
T Cytotoxic Cells destroy infected body cells by making holes in the cell membranes using proteins called perforins. This allows water to rush into the cells, causing it to burst. They are actually called Killer T cells.
T cells destroy pathogens.
Killer T Cells
Killer, or Cytotoxic, T cells are responsible for killing cells that are infected, damaged or cancerous.

t-lymbhocytic
It releases perforin and granzymes which kills the infected cells.
T-cells will do this
