Bearded Dragons hunt in lots of different ways depending on the personality of the lizard and the food available. For example my Bearded Dragon will chase after the larger slower crickets but will stay still and wait for the smaller faster ones. Finally a Bearded Dragon's hunting patterns will also change based on the environment they are in e.g. a Bearded dragon that lives in a more open area with little hiding spaces might be more inclined to chase after prey compared to one who lives in a cluttered environment and will be more reserved and stealthy when hunting.

Bearded dragons will quickly run and just devour their prey, though, if it is a small bug. If it's something like a mouse ( they will only eat big stuff if they are starving) they will slowly approach and eat quickly.

The term "bearded" dragon is because it has a beard. Not like hairy beards on us humans, but made entirely of scales. They appear to be spiky (though to the touch they are sort of soft, and dont hurt) and they puff up these "beards" to scare off predetors. They also have a scaly and spiky body to appear unnapetizing to other animals, and they often flatten their stomach out like a pancake to appear bigger, and can hiss and stand up taller. Unlike other lizards, their tail does not slither off to cause a distraction.
