These movements are caused by a major thrust from the E, which in the 150 years of surveying, has shortened the150 km distance by c1.5m; a rate of about 10mm per year of shortening in the 150 km distance. Without any major earthquake in the region.
All residents are strongly advised to have an emergency kit of at least 3 days of water and food, stored where it is less likely to be damaged in an earthquake.
