Most gun owners that I've meet feel as if gun laws are to strict, especially dealing with concealed carry. All politicians are doing when making gun laws, and no carry areas, are just creating criminal safe zones. That is where a criminal will know that nobody is armed, except for him. If more people carried guns with them criminals might think twice about mugging someone or breaking into a house or robbing a business, because they probably would end up getting shot.
how did former slave owners feel about Jim crow laws
Your question calls for an opinion. My opinion is that most gun laws are useless. There are several thousand gun laws on the books NOW in the US. Many of them make little or no sense.
Impossible to give an exact answer, since no laws require registration of gun owners. It is ESTIMATED that between 30% and 40% of adult Americans have at least one firearm in their home.
Personally, no.
In the US, roughly 1/3 of the households are gun owners.
There are no definitive studies that show clear trends. The top three states for violent crimes, Tennessee, Nevada, and Alaska have fairly liberal gun laws and high gun ownerships, yet according to state statistics the victims are often not gun owners.
No. There is no registration of gun owners
Gun owners aren't "registered" like cars. One estimate is that there are @ 4 million or so gun owners.
Roughly 1.4 million LEGAL gun owners.
MOST states do not register guns or gun owners.
Not quite. New laws have prohibited ownership of a large number of gun types. Please check with the NY State Rifle Assoc. for exact information.
