i believe it all depends on the age group... if your in a younger group anything under 18 then yes.... but if you are of age i say no.... but it would show a sign of respect if the guy talks to the father eventually in the relationship.. the only time i really think you should now ask anything from a father is the girl's hand in marriage... and that's rare now days.no he should jusst ask the girl,he doesn't have to spill himself out to te father.

∙ 11y ago- You're going to have to be confident as possible about this. Give him a nice hand-shake, and talk to him for a bit and come out with it. No sense in showing weakness in a relationship, ESPECIALLY when asking out for the daughter's hand (as far as dating, not marriage at this point is what I mean).
