the orangutan adapts to its habitat by learning what and what not to eat, and over time as the babies learn from the parents it becomes their new way of doing things (this happens with other things too such as fur and stuff).

Orangutans adapt by looking big and strong to scare off predators. Also the orangutans must eat so they eat all the prey they can get. It helps they can run fast or swing fast to catch prey faster and easier!
