the guard cells close the stomata (small holes that allow Carbon Dioxide in and Oxygen out) they close it at night to stop the plant losing to much water, which it needs for photosynthesis.

It contains chloroplast which gives the leaf the green colour and without it it cannot trap and use the light needed to make food, so they will end up weak and spindly

What does a palisade cell have that a root hair cell does not?

The main function of the palisade cell if for photosynthesis because it has alot of chloroplact so it is useless if it is found in the roots where it has no job there. Palisade cells are found on the top part of the leaf to get as much sunlight as possible.

How does the long narrow shape of cells in the palisade layer adapt the cells to their major function?

The long narrow shape of cells in the palisade layer adapt the cells to their major by shedding whatever isn't needed and growing what is needed to be able to function in their area.

What is a palisade?

The noun 'palisade' is a word for a fence or a wall forming an enclosure or defense; a word for a thing.

What shape is a palisade cell?

Palisade cells are shaped like cheese because once upon a time a smiley face took over the world and forced them to become that shape. It was very sad.

The long narrow cells located directly beneath the upper epidermis are called palisade parenchyma cells?

True

Parts of a palisade cell?

Nucleus- control center of cell. Stores gentic information Cell wall- Protects cell and keeps it rigid. Cell membrane- Allows things to enter and exit the cell. Vacuole- Bag of liquid that keeps cells shape. Cytoplasm- Jelly-like substance which things dissolve in. Chloroplast- A green substance that collects sunlight for photosynthesis.

Why is the palisade cell special?

So that the leaf can make the most of the sunlight and create the most energy. Carbon dioxide can also diffuse into the cells very easily.

Which is the odd one out muscle cell palisade cell root hair cell or xylem cell?

root hair cells have long thin extensions that allow them to grow easily between the soil particles. palisade cells have a large number of chloroplasts in them to trap as much light energy as possible.

Where is the location of chloroplast?

chloroplasts can be located in many places in a leaf.. guard cells, spongy mesophyll, palisade mesophyll, Palisade mesophyll contains the most amount of chloroplasts.... because that is where the energy from the sun is trapped, therefore the plant needs to have many chloroplasts in order to capture the light energy.. extra* the palisade cells are long and wide in order to increase the surface area of contact with the sun.. there are many air spaces between the spongy mesophyll for gas exchange..

The vast majority of chloroplasts found in a leaf are located where?

Palisade mesophyll... because that is where the energy from the sun is trapped, therefore the plant needs to have many chloroplasts in order to capture the light energy. The palisade cells are long and wide in order to increase the surface area of contact with the sun..

Does photosynthesis take place in cells with chloroplasts?

As long as those chloroplasts contain the pigment chlorophyll, yes.

What does CO2 do to sugar?

The body breaks down or converts most carbohydrates into the sugar glucose. Glucose is absorbed into the bloodstream, and with the help of a hormone called insulin it travels into the cells of the body where it can be used for energy
