Why do you not remember what happened in a seizure?
Someone will know they have had a seizure because they will often feel it coming, and they will feel themselves coming out of it. There will also be a time gap between those two and they may not feel well. Someone who has had lots of seizures will be familiar with one coming on and how they feel after it. People don't remember what happens during a seizure because they are not fully conscious. It is like as if they are day dreaming or asleep and then wake up. In the same way people don't know what happens when they are asleep, someone who has had a seizure won't know what will have happened during the actual seizure. They may remember dreaming sometimes, like we do when we sleep, but not always. Some very mild seizures will not result in a loss of consciousness and may last seconds, so the person will know something has happened, but bigger ones will result in a loss of consciousness and they won't remember being in the seizure because of that.
