Mexico is a federal presidential representative republic, with an executive, a legislative and the judiciary. Also, by virtue of being a federation, it has the same three branches at the state and local levels of government. Both the executive and the legislative are elected by direct popular vote.

You get a Credencial de Elector by being Mexican by birth or nationalization.

In election dates you find by newspaper, web or phone your district and you go to vote in your designated box. They are set in public places such as parks or schools, sometimes in volunteer homes.

People working at the voting boxes are neighbors who are ask to volunteer very much as jury duty system in US. but optional. They get a course to manage the election.

They check you are in the list (same information from your credencial de elector) they give you a ticket to vote for president, one for mayor, one for Congress etc, depends of the date and where you are.

You cross with a pencil, crayon or pen the name, the box, the picture or logo of the party or all of them and you put each one in a designated box. One for president, one for local government etc.
