How do people that live in Mexico dress?

In Mexico's cities and large towns, Mexicans wear clothing similar to that worn in the United States. The villagers' clothes, however, are very simple and practical. Village men usually wear plain cotton shirts and pants with leather sandals called huaraches. The village women wear blouses and long, full skirts. They usually go barefoot. They use shawls, which are called rebozos, to cover their heads. Mothers also use rebozos to wrap their babies to their backs.

The most unusual Mexican fashion is worn by the women of Tehuantepec in the far south. They wear elaborated, lacy aprons and skirts decorated with gold coins.
