• Pets such as dogs or cats are often very aware of their owner's moods or if the owner is depressed or very ill and are extremely loyal and comforting. Often a very playful or verbal pet will become very quiet; either lay at the person's feet; on the bed or just be as close as possible. If the owner is very close to their pet then there seems to be a peaceful contact between the two that is comforting.
