'Popular' people often become 'popular' because they have the right personality. They may be really confident and sure about themselves, which obviously gives them an advantage above shy, insecure people. But often the 'popular' people just have nice clothes, lots of money, good looks etc.

Some seem to exaggerate on their looks and money but most likely they have a good name for themselves.

Well, now everyone thinks looking hot, wearing the best clothes, listening to the coolest music (hip- hop, rap, pop) and having the most friends. But those are the ones that grow up to be losers. What really makes you popular is being nice, doing your own thing, so on and so on. Don't become popular by being mean, it isn't worth it, and you really won't have any friends because they usually will gossip about you and then leave you for another crowed. And what's so fun about being a jerk? NOTHING. And remember, a lot of times drinking, smoking, drugs etc. makes you popular, or at least seem that way. No, that only makes you die earlier, so please, please, don't get into that stuff if they offer that to you. =) hope I could answer correctly. well ill tell you a better way to be popular listen to cool songs look hot get a boyfriend (the cutest) and wear the best clothes sometimes wearing makeup helps (to u girls) and sometimes joining a sportsteam helps too(to u guys) but just have fun and dont ever look dorky or anything because that will NEVER help u

It really depends on the school. Some kids are popular because they are nice and fun to be around, some are popular because they bully other people, and others are popular because of their clothes. The other kids decide who is popular. They can decide it because one person has a lot of friends, or that one person has cooler clothes than another. It is really based on you and your friends to decide. The thing about popularity is that all the 'unpopular' kids actually decide who is popular. They're only popular because you make them so.
