Since pythons are carnivores, not eating plants directly, they are usually secondary or tertiary consumers in a food chain depending on their main food source. If it were to eat insects(herbivores/primary consumers) the python would be secondary; if it were to eat rodents(omnivores/secondary consumers) the python would be a tertiary consumer etc....
