We have a family of fox living in our backyard... and have had zero problems with them. Our dog doesn't like being tied up though, she is a bassett hound and she is tied up to protect the babies. Our kids and ourselves have been in the yard when they are out and they don't run from us but they keep a safe distance. I have no fear of these animals hurting us because they are healthy and keep the rodent population down.

Humans harm red foxes in many ways - by shooting them, hunting them, trapping them, snaring them, killing them for fur and as a trophy, driving them out of their homes, poisoning their food, etc.

Red foxes are, overall, beneficial as they help control rodent and rabbit populations. They will also take domestic animals, such as poultry, rabbits, lambs, small cats and small dogs and people need to take precautions and protect their animals. Foxes do what foxes do!

Red Foxes would be considered a predator for other small animals, such as household pets. If there is one in your neighborhood I would keep an eye on small dogs, house cats, etc.
