Mother sea otters nurse their young. They aggresively defend their young from intruders. Baby sea otters are called pups. The pups are weaned at 14 weeks. By three or four months, Giant River otters eat solid food.
They carry them on their stomachs and they feed them from their chest and they tech them how to swim and hunt.
The male polar bear will kill the cubs so the female polar bear protects it's young.
Juveniles generally become independent at 6 to 12 months of age.
