According to the furniture experts, a normal shelf has to be reinforced using dowels and screws, whereas a cabinet shelf can be placed anywhere you prefer. Cabinet shelves are more popular these days as it allows you to move it around when you feel like giving your home a makeover. You can find cabinet shelves with open and closed cabinets. Some of them also offer a combination of both styles. Regardless of which design you pick, cabinet shelves are a great way to add some personality and character to your home. Wakefit offers classy-looking Bookshelf designs. These are made from solid wood and are extremely durable. They can handle the weight of heavy books as well as any other product you may deem to place on the shelves. These shelves are designed to take up minimal floor space, yet offer plenty of shelf space. The minimalist designs are a huge hit among many homeowners. If you are thinking of purchasing shelves for your home, I would recommend heading to the Wakefit website and checking out the different models available. They also have floating wall shelves which can transform ordinary walls instantly.

There are not many differences between a normal shelf and a shelf that fits in a cabinet. A normal shelf will require brackets to screw to a wall then the shelf sits on top. A shelf made for a cabinet will not need brackets other than the one's already in the cabinet, normally they will just slide in.

Shelves are open, drawers have boxes (which can rest on shelves) to hold goods.
