Starfish are well known for their powers of regeneration. A complete new animal can grow from a small fragment such as an arm. In some species (Linckia multifora and Echinaster luzonicus) one of the arms will virtually pull itself away, regenerates and forms a new animal. Autotomy (self amputation) usually is a protective function, losing the body part to escape a predator rather than being eaten. But here it serves as a form of asexual reproduction. In other species of sea stars (Allostichaster polyplax and Coscinasterias calamaria) the body is broken into unequal parts (= fission) then the missing limbs regenerate.
The starfish more PREFERABLY sea star regrows its limbs through regeneration. So if you cut a sea star in half, the two halves will regrow into new sea stars.
Yes they can. When they loose one of their limbs, it gows back
well they mutiply and they are living things
it is called mhedamorphisis or sea star reproduce
Fragmentation.
Regeneration
the regrowth of starfish's legs :P

regeneration
It is called regeneration
A starfish has five limbs and if one of those limbs (which can also called arms or legs) is lost it can regrow over time. A starfish that is halved can grow into two starfish.
It grows a new arm. Not only that, but the lost arm (if not eaten by something) grows into a new sea star. Unfortunately, we "superior" beings traded this regenerative capability for such baubles as arched feet, opposable thumbs, stereoscopic eyes, and brains. Can't have everything.
When a starfish loses a limb, it can grow back another one, and the one it lost turns into a new starfish.
The general process is called regeneration. Some species of starfish reproduce by fission using regeneration to make each half into a full and separate organism.
Because a starfish is asexual it is able to reproduce another one. and the parts that fall or get cut off from a new starfish because of asexual reproduction.Asexual means by itself. The A in asexual stands for non. is its non sexual. While Sexual means fromed by two things.:D Hope this makes sense to you :D
It grows smaller in size.
No, when a lizard loses its tail, the tail cannot grow into another lizard, even though the lizard can grow another tail. Lizards do not have the same regenerative ability as starfish.
If a starfish loses all of its legs, they will grow back. This regeneration is asexual reproduction. We just learned about that
