how does the way you think change during adolescence.
The brain grows bigger as your head grows, this happens quicker during puberty and causes thoughts to become scrambled and confusing. You drop things more often as you are uncoordinated. You begin to get adult thoughts of a sexual nature too. You also think you know everything during this time.
The brain develops in stages so a younger child doesn’t have abstract thinking skills until adolescence. At about 10 years old the brain reformats itself to make room for new information. It is a little like clearing out a filing cabinet so the drawers can be made ready to receive higher order information. Recent research shows that brains are being affected by computers and shaping thinking skills. Whither this is good or not only time will tell. Of course, there can be developmental problems that children are born with or they could have a learning problem that makes it hard for them to learn. One of the most important things to do with children is to help them develop their skills through reading, talking to them, giving them puzzles, and allowing them to explore their world as a young child.
