One thing only that i know, we now realize that the destructive power of nuclear bombs, since the Atomic bombs fell on Japan, should never need to be used against our own human race on our earth, due to their pure power.

The decisions made in World War 2 affected the world by having the Cold War as a consequence. Israel suffered because they have not been able to drive the Palestians and Muslims from their country ever since then. We devolped exceptionally good weapons, ships, planes and new outfits for our servicemen that keep them alive. Medicine and surgery changed in warfare as a result of the decisions made about wound care, post traumatic stress disorder and the Veterans received care too. The GI bill was created and has benefited the Vets for decades. Tragically the methods of warfare strategies used by the Big Three and the generals were not used again in the Viet Nam War. In that war decisions were made by micro managing Presidents rather than let the generals run the war as was done in World War 2. Viet Nam War would have been different. They learned they must let the Generals make the decisions after those two wars. So now the Presidents don't micro manage military operations. The decision to create the United Nations has benefited the world whether some people agree or not.

Because of World War 2 we have today space exploration, satellites in space for all our toys like television, cellular phones, global phones. internet usage, some of the most miraculous medical care and durable medical equipment, new surgery devices and methods, computer improvements, and phenomenal military power and equipment. We got nuclear subs and ships, missiles, smart bombs and armor for the troops. I could go on and on but you get the idea.

World War 2 was possibly the single most cataclysmic event in human history to date, which involved the death of some 35 million people, massive destruction all over the world, the fall of empires, the rise of the US as a dominant global power, the first use of nuclear weapons, and the creation of a nuclear stalemate between the US and the USSR. It would not be an exaggeration to claim that no aspect of the world as we know it has not been influenced by the events of WW II.
