Urine
There are many functions of the kidneys that maintain homeostasis. In addition to filtering wastes, the kidneys use hormones to regulate blood pressure and altering the sodium and electrolyte balances to maintain proper fluid balances within the body. The kidneys help to maintain the internal balance in the body by excreting substances that change that balance. The kidneys also help to maintain water balance.
interstitial fluid
Its job is to filter the wastes and excess fluid from our body, the wastes and fluids are excreted as urine and the nutrients are still on our body. The kidney also aids in the regulation of blood pressure, keeping the balance of electrolytes, and the absorption of excess water and glucose.
Kidneys play biggest role in fluid balance. They are part of the excretory system.
The kidneys are organs with several functions. They are an essential part of the urinary system and also serve homeostatic functions such as the regulation of electrolytes, maintenance of acid-base balance, and regulation of blood pressure. They serve the body as a natural filter of the blood, and remove wastes which are diverted to the urinary bladder. In producing urine, the kidneys excrete wastes such as urea and ammonium; the kidneys also are responsible for the reabsorption of water, glucose, and amino acids.
Kidneys have got heavy blood supply. Kidneys filter out about 180 litres of fluid per day. About 177 to 179 litres fluid is reabsorbed. This is necessary in order to filter out the nitrogenous waste products of metabolism.
Cerebral spinal fluid
The kidneys and urinary bladder work together, yes, but they are in the URINARY system. They process and get rid of fluid waste. But they are NOT in the excretory system. The kidneys process the fluid wastes, then releases the fluid as urine, which is stored in the urinary bladder. The work alongside the excretory system. The excretory system processes solid and semi-solid wastes by drawing fluid into the small intestines. When done processing the waste, the large intestines releases excess fluids over to the kidneys to process the fluid. At times when this balance is not maintained, such as during the flu, the intestines releases wastes as diarrhea because there isn't enough time between excretions to shuttle the excess fluids to the kidneys.
The kidneys are the principle organ for maintaining salt and water balance. One of the functions of the kidneys is to control the water and salt balance in the body. That is why it is referred to as the main organ of homeostasis.
Cerebral spinal fluid
The adrenal glands which are found on top of the kidneys help to adjust fluid balance through electrolyte balance. The posterior portion of the pituitary gland secretes anti diuretic hormone which also contributes to fluid balance in the body.
