The molecules in the tire collide with the tire wall resulting in a force. And the temperature of the air in a tire increase the kinetic energy which causes the air pressure inside the tyre.

they hit the walls/side of the tyre and that builds pressure

Why you reduce pressure in a car tire while moving on a motor way?

You should not reduce tire pressure just because you are going to be on a long roadway. You should set the pressure to the cold pressure as specified by the vehicle and tire manufacturers and you should leave it alone. It is normal for the pressure to increase when the tire is hot. DO NOT bleed it off. This will cause the tire to overheat and potentially cause it to fail, possibly with catastrophic consequences. Alwaysadjust pressure when the tire is cold.

How do you find gage pressure?

Gage pressure is the difference between atmospheric pressure and absolute pressure. If you fill your tire to 35 psi as read on a tire gage, this is the gage pressure. The absolute pressure inside the tire is the pressure of the atmosphere (14.7 psi normally at sea level) plus the gage pressure.

Why are there more tire blowouts on the highways in April rather than December?

Because in April, the temperature of the weather is hot. So, the pressure inside the tires of the car will expand because of the heat. The more the temperature increases, the more the pressure inside the tires of the car increases. So if the tires of the car can't hold the pressure inside it the tire will blow-out or burst. in Dec. the temperature is cold making the pressure inside the tires constant or stable and will not make the tire to burst or pop.

Why is a tire more likely to explode when a truck is driven in hot weather than in cold weather?

Air pressure increases as heat does. This is due to the particles inside gaining kinetic energy (higher temperature), and so hitting the inner surface of the tyre more often.

What instrument measures tire pressure?

manometer Commonly called a tire pressure gauge.

Can cold weather cause low tire pressure?

yes it can cause low tire pressure

Why might an over inflated tire burst at high speeds?

Because the particles all inside are moving causing lots of pressure which also causes it to burst and then the particles are relieved.

Why does air come out of a bicycle tire when you open the valve even if the valve is pointing up?

Because the air inside the tire is under pressure. Gas always flows from a region of higher pressure to a region of lower pressure. As the pressure inside the tire is greater than the pressure outside, the air always comes out of the bicycle tyre.

If the pressure inside a car tire is equal to atmospheric pressure the tire is flat why?

If inside and outside same pressure that means there is no pressure. The added pressure is what blows the tire up like a balloon and holds the weight of the car up.

A truck's tires have the correct air pressure at room temperature about 20c explain why a tire is more likey to explode when the truck is driven in hot weather than in cold weather?

As a tire goes round and round heat builds up inside the heat expands the air inside the tire. On a normal day that he can dissipate but as the temperature on the outside increases is more difficult for the heat (energy) to leave the inside of the tire. As the temperature increases the pressure inside the tire also increases. It is that pressure that can cause the tire to explode.

Why does air leave the tire when the tire valve is opened?

Air leaves a tire when the tire valve is open due to the pressure. The pressure outside of the tire is lower than the pressure inside the tire.

Is there a tire pressure in the spare tire in a Explorer 2004?

NO - there isn't a pressure sensor inside the spare

The air pressure inside a tire?

What is the tire pressure for a pt cruiser?

The tire will have a recommended psi printed on the tire, it is best to follow this recommendation. Check inside driver door for tire pressure information. Tire lists max pressure at max load. Mfg will set tire presure on sticker inside driver door.

Explain why a tire or balloon expands when air is added?

The air particles are closer together creating more pressure inside a ballon or tired and makes it expand

What causes pressure in a car tire?

The air molecules bouncing around off the inside of the tire. If you force something into a confined space that is usually allowed to be free it will exert pressure(Force) on th walls of it's container. An increase in tire temperature or friction will cause the air pressure to increase while colder temperatures will cause it to decrease.
