These days, most orthodontists or dentists don't tighten your braces. Most of them just Put in a bigger wire each time you have a checkup. This procedure can hurt the first two days. Not as bad as when you get your braces though.
The first few visits will be more frequent but once the braces are placed, we usually will see you every 5-8 weeks. More frequent visits don't usually shorten the length of treatment, as time is needed in between visits to allow for the physiologic tooth movement. Missed appointments, however, can lengthen treatment time.
you usually tighten braces every 6 - 8 weeks. i have mine tightened every 7 weeks. but i also know someone who has theirs tightened every month.
it depends... i know people that get them tightened monthly but other are like every 3-4 months

Braces
No getting braces tighten does not hurt it only is uncomfortable but after a hour with your braces they start to hurt.
Braces are uncomfortable at first and quiet painful when they tighten them and but the wire on. but once you are used to them you will forget you have them
with braces u will need the dentist to tighten them every now and again when this happens there will be a slight pain because there is strain on the teeth but after a while the pain disperses until the dentist tightens them hope this helps and doesnt scare u :)
you can get the colors on when you get the bracets on. The colors are actutally rubber band strands that get placed on the bracets. that's actually how they tighten braces is by cutting the colored bands that are on the bracets. they get swicthed every visit.
Orthodontists will want certain teeth extracted (usually premolars) to make more room in your mouth so they can align your teeth properly. Your mouth and jaw may be too small for all your teeth.
I what I'm trying to find out too!. I have braces and every time they tighten them, my face hurts underneath my tongue (Sort of where your glands are). It's like muscle pain. Well I guess I'm not the only one :)
AnswerThey can be from either stainless steel, nickel-titanium, or the white ones from either porcelain or composite. They but a special glue on your teeth so they stick on. It does not hurt to get them on at all, and tighten them, and to take them off
I had my wisdom teeth out first and then had my brace fitted once everything had healed, wisdom teeth can leave a rather big hole!
if your baby teeth falls out, it doesn't matter because it was going to fall out anyway. the whole point of braces are to make your teeth tighten and get them straight so when it was tightening your teeth, i think it caused your baby teeth to wobble and fall. but its ok because at least its not your adult teeth so dont worry! :)
