To locate ignition coil (IC): open hood, to left side of engine there are 3 IC's bolted to cylinder head; they have spark plug wires attached to them (6 wires between all 3 IC's). You can unbolt and swap problem coil with basic set of hand tools, just unbolt install rubber seal new coil comes with and install new IC.

under the coil pack in the engine compartment. The coil pack is where the plug wires hook into it.
the ignition module on a buick park avenue is under the coil pack which is on the front left side of motor. its where the plugs plug into coil pack. the ignition module is the part that is underneath the coil pack. You will need a star tool to remove the 6 star screws. in order to remove the whole thing their are 3 i belive 7mm nuts under neath the whole thing these also need to be removed. you then unplug the coil pack from the ignition module in order to replace it . be sure to get the wires hooked up in sequence or it may not start.

You need to replace the heater coil !
V6 Engines * Disconnect the negative battery cable * Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil * Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coil * Remove the ignition coil mounting bolts and remove the coil from the valve cover V8 Engines * Disconnect the negative battery cable * Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil if youre going to remove more then one ignition coil mark each electrical connector with its corresponding coil to prevent mix-ups during reassembly * Remove the ignition coil hold-down bolt * Grasp the ignition coil firmly and pull it straight up
* Disconnect the negative battery cable * Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector * Remove the the coil mounting screws and pull the coil up with a twisting motion
Does not have one. Just a coil pack, top of the engine, near the wiper transmission area. Follow the ignition wires. Should not need replacement at all.
Take off the plastic engine cover , take out the bolt that hold the coil , take out the coil.
