Wiper parking switch faulty, most often part of wiper motor
The parking switch inside of the wiper motor is defective. Replace the wiper motor.
You need to pull the complete wiper arm off it's splines and then put it back on the splines in the position that you want the blade.
first remove wiper arms from vehicle next with ignition on, turn wipers on then off. the wiper motor will stop at the down position. replace wiper arms onto shaft ,in the correct down position where you want them. now with ignition on, try wipers again,to check if in the stop position you want them.
On a 2004 mercede C240 the auto wiper is not auto anymore. The wipers will not turn on in any position. I can get the wiper wash and wiper to work when pushing the button. How to trouble shoot? Thanks Tanya
How do you replace the wiper blades on a 2006 Mercedes C230 Sport
You may need to loosen the wiper motor mounting and re-adjust the position in that manner. Make certain that the bolts are tightened (torqued to spec) but not over-tightened.
the wiper arms are on a splined shaft so you would have to remove the arm from the shaft and rotate and replace them farther to the left or right to get the position you want most arms are held with a clip device of some kind that is part of the arm its self
if the wiper arms are stuck in the up position, the crank arm is bad. this part attaches to the wiper motor and wiper transmission. the part can be purchased aftermarket at part stores. it is around $60. It should come with directions on how to install
Turn the wipers off, pull the wiper arm off, and replace it in the correct down position.
You need to start by disconnecting the wiper arm assembly from the splines on the wiper motor itself. Then you need to jog the motor, once, through its cycle until it stops at its "park" position. Turn off the key switch. Then reconnect the wiper arm assembly to the motor when the wiper blades are in the proper position on the windshield. Turn key back on, and test run the wiper motor to make sure the blades aren't going off the edges and that there is no binding. Adjust as needed. Reinstall all previously removed covers and cowling.
