How do you adjust or repair the parking brake on a 2000 Dodge neon?

If you have disc brakes in the rear it is very simple. The rear disc has a inner drum that has pads. These pads rarely wear out. To adjust it take off the rear tire. Inside the rear of the unit is a little rubber plug. Remove it. Inside is a clicker that can be adjusted with a small screwdriver. One way on the clicker will tighten the other loosen. Spin the rear wheel hub until you feel it tighten as you move the clicker expander. You will feel the hub getting tigher harder to turn and hear the pads making contact with the inner drum. Repeat on the other rear drum. They are suppose to be self adjusting, but I find this not true. Hope this helps. Steely Dan
