This depends if it is on a carbureator or on fuel-injection. On a carbureator, locate the idle adjustment screw and turn until idle is satisfactory.

To adjust idle on a 1996 Yamaha Virago 110o, locate the throttle body and remove the rubber casing for the idle switch. Disconnect the idle air adjustment valve and turn the idle screw.
