The Vet can then show you how to express your own pet's anal glands yourself. Normally a dog will naturally express the anal glands on their own by just exercising but sometimes the older & fatter dogs that are in the house constantly will end up with blocked anal glands or draining glands that smell to high heaven. You need to learn how to express them yourself but first make sure there is not an infection present.
