the only male in the entire colony (and the only ant that isn't blind) is the drones, or those flying ants. the queen only has to mate once and she will produce babies all the time, when a colony of ants moves, the queen has to temporarilly shut off her ability to give birth. once the ants have reached their new destination, the queen sends out a signal for one of the drones to come and mate with her so that she can produce babies again. the drone is to big to fit inside the anthill, so the other ants have to clip of his wings so that he can get inside the colony, after mating, the drone then dies.

Like most animal that you can see with the naked eye they are in fact sexually reproductive. Most ants are female. All the workers, soldier, nurses etc. are sterile females. The queen is of course a fertile female. Only the drones are male.

No, they can't because the classification of being an insect is an umbrella term with different species of insect within it. Different species have a different number of chromosomes and therefore cannot produce fertile offspring. Moreover, different species have different courtship behavior i.e. they are just not attracted to each other. Have you ever seen, for example, ever seen a lady bird and a mosquito mating?

Sexually - The queen ant finds a mate and reproduces eggs which form the ant colony. Of course, it couldn't be asexually, because that would mean that the ants have to break it half, which they don't, or else they'd die.

What are advantages of asexual reproduction?

Asexual reproduction generates offspring that are genetically identical to a single parent. Asexual reproduction allows the organisms to reproduce very quickly.
