How do you get past the last castle in New Super Mario Bros on DS?

Pretty simple. Just go through the 8 worlds while trying not to die(lose a life). There are 4 levels in each world. The last level of each world is a Castle level. At the end of every castle level, you have to kill Bowser(the green turtle). Keep in mind though, in world 1 to world 7, in the castle, all Bowsers are FAKERS! Thus at the end of castles 1-7 you save a Mushroom Retainer(otherwise known as Toads(talking mushrooms)). At world 8 you kill the real thing and save the real princess. Hopefully that answers your question.

whenever your in a castle, and you keep traveling on and on and it repeats the background, that means your doing something wrong

and you go through the bottom, then it repeats, that means you should try a new route, maybe you were supposed to take the top route, if that doesn't work, try empiramenting by going up 1 down 1 etc.

First of all, reach the first door and go through it. When you bump one of the boxes a box will come out which turns it upside down, go through the door that you can now reach, then find your way past the laser beams to the new doors, keep finding the question mark buttons to turn it upside down. Then when you finally reach the checkpoint flag, there is three layers of stone and you have to go through them in a certain order to get a *ping* noise. On the first three go through the bottom, the next section go through the top, and then the middle. Otherwise it will go on and on forever. Then you will get to the doors, you have to kill bowser junior and then the big bowser. Hope this helps!

When you get to the midway point of the castle you will reach a hallway where you have to choose the correct path to move on. Starting from the first set of platforms, take the bottom, followed by the top on the second set. For the third set of platforms, fall down to the bottom then jump up to the middle platform. (Do not fall from the top onto the middle platform or else you will have to restart that hallway. As you progress down the hallway you should hear a tone indicating whether or not you've chosen the correct pathway. Once you get through this successfully you'll reach the door leading to the final boss.
