At the start of the race, before you go, 3 2 1 flashes on your screen. The second that the 2 disappears, hold down either 2 or A, depending on if you are playing with the nunchuk. You will get the boost of speed. But be careful; if you hold down 2 or A too early, your kart will smoke and spin out.
You get it at the beginnig by: pressing and holding the A button when the timer gets to the 2. You get it during the race by: driving smoothly. but even if you drive smoothly, you don't always get it. sucks, i know, sorry.
If you hold down 2 as the two is just about to switch to 1 (as the game is starting) you will get a speed boost. Also if you shake whatever you're using as your character is in the air (like if you went up a ramp) you will do a trick and when your character hits land they will get a boost.
Well, you first need to see these white arrows and blue behind it. Then, go on those white arrows with the tip of your car pointing straight up. Now, shake the wii remote DOWN. You shoud have dropped down with the point of the car down. That's the only way to keep your boost. Now, when you are on land, you shoud have speed boost.
Hope it works!
Hold the accelerator button after the number '2' appears on screen during the count down.
Hold the accelerate button when the countdown gets to 2, but not right when you see the number 2.
You need to holed 2 and why it counts down 3 2 1 at that very second on 1 you let go and you should have a boost. Well that's what i do and it works for me.
At the 2 sign, start accelerating.
