How do you replace the reverse light bulb on a VW beetle?

in the rear trunk area there are 2 round plastic covers - 1 in each corner opposite lights ; pry round plastic cover off with screw driver; with your hand unscrew plastic fan nut in center of rear light ;be careful not to drop it when removing or you will need a small child to retreive it; once you remove the nut you must twist yhe light with the palm of your hand and gently pry it out; once the light housing is out you just twist bulb holder counter clockwise and pull it out ; push in bulb gently and twist to release ; install in reverse order

∙ 9y agoThe rear turn signal bulb in a 2005 VW Beetle Convertible can be replaced by opening the rear hatch (engine compartment). The bulb's inside lens has to be removed and then the bulb can be exchanged for a new one.

∙ 9y agoYou will remove the two bolts from the bulb, then turn the bulb from the bulb holder, the bulb should come right out. You are now ready to install the new bulb.
