Remove the front wheel And place a jack under the strut.Remove the cotter pin and thenut on the ball joint.Next you will need a cutting torch or a grinder if it is a factory ball joint. Grind or cut the three bolts off and knock the old ball joint out. The new ball joint will have new nuts and bolts install the new ball joint and use lock tigh on the bolts. Reconnect the strut and ball joint tighten the nut and install the new cotter key. fill the ball joint with fresh grease don't overfill. Also check the sway bar bolts they are cheap to replace and new set comes with new bushings. The sway bar is an important part of the front end and most often overlooked. Most of the squeking noise comes from bad sway bar bushings. I have replaced bolts that look alright but inside there sleeve they rot away to nothing. Happy Wrenching

When you change rotor or main ball joint, or when they get worn.

Remove control arm from vehicle. If ball joint is pressed, use ball joint press (or hammer) to remove ball joint. If it is held in by rivits, destroy rivits and remove ball joint. Bushings may be removed and installed with ball joint press; use your head (ie: you can use a socket if there is not a ball joint press adapter that fits control arm bushing, etc.). Install new bushing STRAIGHT! Install all other parts in reverse order of removal. You should get an alignment after finished.
