you need to pull the engine and trans. as one by dropping the sub frame. then you can pull the trans and get to the clutch. good luck
Haynes Manuals have a good range of repair books, mainly European and Japanese cars. most auto accessory shops in UK sell them but a contact in USA is Haynes North America Inc, 861 Lawrence Drive, Newbury Park, Califorla 91320, USA http://www.haynes.com/naordin.html is their website in the States. saved me a lotof time and money over the years. Appear to be $22 which is a lot cheaper than UK. Also cover motorbikes and lots of small things that have engines e.g. lawnmowers etc.
Pontiac Fiero was created in 1984.
Yep, they built a bunch of those
Drop the cradle & engine together
$6,000.00 to $40,000.00.
1984-1988 pontiac fiero with the 2.5L engine or any pontiac with the 2.5L engine
Don't bother, neither the manual or automatic use it
Pontiac Fiero made from 1984-1988
no but it can stop the fuel pump from running.
No the Pontiac Fierodid not come with power steering.No. They did come out with an Electrical power steering unit, but it only came with the 1988 Fiero's. Look into them. Idkif you can put them on any other year but i would like to know to put it on my 86 GT.
It is located on the accumulator reservoir (receiver-dryer) in the front compartment, right-side.
there were only fire problems in the 1984 4cyl fieros, not any of the later years
Take it out and put new in? Each part is held in differently and I can't type 300 pages of instructions.
It's the large center button on the steering wheel with the Fiero Pegasus logo. If the horn is not working there's a problem with it. Actually the horn is located under the front bumper, I believe on the drivers side.
This could be the famous Italian sports car Ferrari or the less-known GM car from 1984-1988, the Pontiac Fiero.
the fuses in a pontaic fiero are near the front hood release, it is a black box looking thing that has a button on the front. when you press the button the tray of fuses release and fall down in a near 90 degree angle.
All Fieros have the fuel pump inside the fuel tank By the way you may be having trouble because there was no fiero in 1977, production was from 1984 to 1988 so your car is probably a 1987
if you have already tried to spray lube where the clutch pedal pivots, it is possible that when someone removed the engine the slave cylinder line was pinched or kinked. It is also possible that someone has jacked up the drivers side rocker panel and pinched the line there. try following the line from the slave all the way up to the front. If nothing is visible then it may be the shaft the clutch moves on which requires the removal of the transmission to inspect.
There are 2 belts on my 1984. Inside belt crank shaft to water pump to alternator, should be a 50". Outside belt crank shaft to A/C, should be a 40" belt.
The listed rating of the 1984 4-cylinder Fiero is : 94hp (if I recall correctly)
You must be from Somewhere in Europe. The first year ofthe Fiero was the 1984 Model year, but in Europe some would be on a 1983 Plate. From personal experiance this car could do a confirmed by Garmin 106 MPH
They actually exist in the GM 2-speed Powerglide transmission. Anybody who has built one could tell you this. People are just naive and think it's a big hoax, like blinker fluid, but they actually exist.
Yes it will fit. All Fiero windshields are the same size. They only vary in the amount of tinting or top shading.
Assuming you are speaking of the front hood, and not the rear engine cover, yes, the 1987 hood will fit the 1984 Notchback. All front hoods are the same, 1984 through 1988. There is a vast parts interchangeability including exterior, interior, electrical, chassis, engine, and transmission, with the 84 through 87 models. Some changes were made in 1988, for instance larger brake rotors, better suspension, etc. so not as many parts are interchangeable with the 1988 and the other years.
the frost plugs are in the block and head. if you have a block heater follow the cord to the block heater, it replaces a frost plug. that should give you an idea where they should be located
