with your headlights on (headlight doors up) remove the three screws that hold in the black plastic cover over the headlights, remove the torx screws (the 2 top outer ones) that keep the metal brace over the headlight, pull the headlight out of the connector and replace.

∙ 11y agoThe Oldsmobile Intrigue has 2 mounted inside of the rear passenger roof mounted handles above the door openings. To replace the lamps you must hold down the spring loaded handle. Flip up the plastic trim pieces that hide the mounting screws for the handle. Remove these 2 Philips head screws and the handle will come off and away. Carefully pull the light assembly out of the roof cavity. This requires care as it must clear the edges of the headliner which has 2 white spacers one of which slides sideways into a clip of the light assy. Once it is clear carefully rotate the light and you will see the back side of the lens. The end of the cover that pushes down as an on off switch has a triangle shaped wedge that has to be pushed to clear allowing the entire lens to pop out on that side. The whole lens will then slide out giving you access to the lamp. Words of advice: Be very gentle when freeing the lens as too much pressure can break the lens. The wires are short, be sure not to stress the connections. When putting everything back together, line up the 2 white spacer blocks with the light assembly, get one side of the block over the headliner at a time, and line up the screw center hole and 2 guide holes before you try to reattach the handle and insert the two screws. Since the handle is spring loaded you don't want to start trying to attach it until you have verified all the holes line up first. One last recommendation: Use LED replacements. The make less heat, pull less current, and last much longer making this a one time job for most car owners.

The switches for the dome light on each door of a 2004 Olds Alero are at the front of the door. They are on the door frame where the door meets the frame when it is closed. If the dome light is staying on, try checking the dome light control by the headlight switch, also. It may have gotten bumped when entering the vehicle.
