manual or electric? manual your car may have a decorative panel on the door across from the mirror if it is mounted to the side near the glass find the screw and remove it , if no screw look for a screw cover and remove that. DONT just pull on the panel look for the screw! there will be 3 nuts underneath remove them and the mirror will fall out. electric is the same however you will have to remove the kick plate to unplug the mirror wires. mirror bolted to the door itself and not actually near the window : you will have to remove the door panel and reach up to the mirror and remove the 2 nuts roughly a 10mm nut in size. this will be a blind feel for it . sorry if this seems generic but it has been awhile since i did either i believe yours is similar to the first set of directions i gave
it is right across from my thermostat and i have a 2000 mercury cougur it srews in and out.
To replace the hinge on a 95 Mercury Cougar, remove the bolts holding the hinge in place. Find a replacement hinge from the manufacturer and install it using the right hardware.

It doesn't drop right in. It will take some fitting but can get it to go.
simply pop it back into the bracket that it popped out of. They are "break-aways" meant to pop out instead of breaking. It may take some pressure, but if it is not broken in any way, just force it back in. It will pop in abruptly.
look inside the glove box on the door itself..most cougs have em right there
For a 99 it is behind the right rear quarter trim panel.
There is something serious wrong, take it back!
there isn't one... I know I was surprised too. The started has a solenoid right on it and that's it.
The IACV on a '99 Mercury Cougar V6 is on the top right of the Upper intake manifold, there is a hose leading from the intake tubing to the IACV. On the I4 Zetec Cougar, I am not sure where the IACV is, though I believe it is on the side of the throttle body.
The flasher unit can be found attached to a bracket on the right side steering column reinforcement .
you have to remove the sound dampeners on the bottom of the steering column and it will be to the right of the fuse block
In the black box right beside the battery. There are 2, a high speed and low speed relay.

it is a small rectangular-shaped switch unit located in a clip on a bracket to the right of the steering coulumn
There are little levers you have to pull and push them forward.... these are located on right and left side from trunk access.
if it is a 2.5 v6 than take the passenger front tire off and the alternator is right behind the plastic shroud
Right under the hood back left corner behind the shocks(aka black circle looking thing)
repalce one at time with new one until all replace to make the wire are back in the right place
yes just make sure u get the right bolt pattern and smaller tires some places will do the mounting for u and it will all work out right
