OK so say you have 6 over 5.
First you want to divide 5 into 6.
You should get 1 and 1 remaining.
Then since the denominator always stays the same you should get 1 and 1 over 5. Because the whole number will be the big number and the remainder will be the numerator.
Then you divide 5 into 1. ( Your denominator into your numerator)
That gives you 0.2 so then you put the whole number in the problem and it comes out to 1.2
Do you get it? It might be best to work this out on paper or something.

I don't think you can but, you can change an improper fraction to a decimal.
First, turn the mixed number into a improper fraction. Then change the improper fraction into a decimal. Then, change it into a percent by moving the decimal point two spaces to the right. Ex: .10 is 10%
change it into an improper fraction, then convert it to a decimal. Or just divide the fraction and add the whole number at the end.
When you convert a decimal greater than 1 into a fraction its easier to change it into a mixed number first. Then change it into an improper fraction.
