How do you change just the shift knob on a 1991 Chevy camaro is it all one unit the knob and arm?

if you have an automatic. put the trans in 1 (with the car off) and look at the the back of the shift knob. there is a thin retainer clip that slides into it. Use a small flat edge screwdriver and pull it out. If youy have a manuel trans i believe that they are either thredded on or the knob may have a cap. pop the cap off and there should be a nut(about 1/2 inch) take the nut off and the knob should come off.
