Well the easiest way is to shear off the rivots with an air chisel. IF one is not available you can painstakingly drill them out. If they have been replaced before then you will just need to un bolt the old ones. Be careful when un-doing the stud nut on the upper, as the front suspension is loaded with a torsion bar, if it is 4 wheel drive.

Put your truck up on jacks. Loosen the lug nuts on the wheel and then remove them. Remove the tire so you have access to the ball joints. Use a pair of pliers to remove the cotter pins. Place a ball joint separator between the ball joint and the steering knuckle and then hammer it until it pops loose. Remove the old ball joints and then replace them with the new ones.
